Make The Most Of Your Caravan Holiday

Whether you are thinking of taking a caravan holiday for the first time or you return to the same park every year, there are some ways you can make the most of your time away.

Static caravans have increased in popularity in recent years. Caravans are larger and better-fitted than ever before, making them an affordable and comfortable accommodation option for many holidaymakers. With enough space to accommodate a family, and fully fitted bathroom and kitchen facilities, they provide an ideal base for exploring the local beach, countryside and tourist attractions.

Make the most of your caravan holiday by planning ahead. In the UK, we cant always rely on fabulous weather, so you need to make sure that you have plans for bad weather days as well as sunny ones. A little bit of research before you leave home is all it takes to help you decide how to manage your holiday time.

Check the weather forecast its possible to check the weather forecast at least 5 days in advance, and whilst it might not be 100% accurate, it will give you a good idea of what sort of weather to expect when youre away. This might help you pack and decide what else you need to take to keep you occupied.

Chill or thrill? what sort of holiday are you looking for? If you just want the chance to relax on the beach or spend time catching up on your reading, then a caravan holiday is ideal with most parks just a few hundred yards from the beach, you can spend all day in the sun without having to worry about parking, driving home or forgetting to bring lunch. Or just sit outside your caravan so that everything you need is to hand. For the more adventurous, many seaside resorts offer amusements, rides and other entertainment, or try a range of water sports and other activities.

Check online the internet is a great resource for people visiting a destination for the first time, or looking for something new to do. Check out the area youre travelling to, and find out what there is to see and do. This helps you to create a checklist before you go, so that you dont waste time when you get there.

Sherwood Caravans has been hiring static caravans to holiday makers for over 40 years. To find out more, visit our website by clicking on http://www.sherwoodcaravans.co.ukKaja Blog49657

Why Would You Stand In Line 48 Hours To Get A Playstation 3? The Marketing Psychology Is Working...

You know it's Christmas time when two things happen...

1) People stand in line for 48 hours camped outside Best Buy for 48 hours waiting for the latest PlayStation release, or...

2) The Internet giveaway fever really heats up - More about this later.

The current Playstation mania is an incredible lesson in marketing. But I missed the importance of what was going on until a friend smacked me in the face with it this morning...

DUMB LIKE A FOX...

Our friend -- I'll call him AJ -- reported this morning that he and his wife had just come back from Wal-Mart where they'd been camping for 48 hours to get one of 4 available PlayStations 3 when they went on sale...

Unbelievable! I thought he was insane when he told us this. Who wants a PlayStation bad enough to stand in line 48 hours?

Well...

He said with a smile, "We got two!"

So! It was still 48 hours in front of a store, right? Do your kids really need PlayStations THAT badly?

"Oh, they're not for the kids! We listed them on eBay within an hour," he said, still smiling. "And they're averaging 5 to 7 thousand dollars. Some have sold for more than $14,000." Search for "PlayStation 3" on eBay. I was blown away at the prices.

I was stunned. Not because of the price (people pay extravagant prices for just about anything), nor because my "insane" friend actually made about $390 per hour if he sells them both for $7000, but because I had totally missed the entire marketing lesson expertly laid out by Sony and Wal-Mart.

The six basic marketing persuaders from Robert Cialdini's classic book, "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion", are in full view!

** Authority -- Wal-Mart. Love 'em or hate 'em, they are the big kahuna in mega store retailing. If they advertise that they have 4 PlayStations in stock...they've got 4 and only 4 in stock. But they promise they can get more because...well, they can.

** Liking -- People practically live at Wal-Mart. Convenience and service translate into customers with an undying loyalty to them, often because they've become the only game in town.

** Commitment with Consistency -- Let's see. Stand outside in November in the rain for 48 hours to be the first in line for the release of a new product. That's serious commitment!

** Reciprocation -- Wal-Mart provides a free (and massive) PS3 buyer's guide on their site that provides all the information you need to make a decision between the $500 and $600 basic units, and all the accessories required. Giving such complete information not only sets up the authority persuader but also makes you value the content and feel indebted to the retailer. That's called reciprocity.

** Social Proof -- The press has been lapping up Sony's press releases about the PlayStation launch date and the lack of product. And the gaming blogs can talk of nothing else.

** Scarcity -- Sony is really smart! They do this every year. Release only enough of the hot product to create an insatiable appetite for it. They may have warehouses full of PlayStations, but they won't release them until the market begs for more.

HOW DID I MISS THIS!

AJ knew -- before he invested the time to stand in line --that the market was clamoring for the product. And he saw an opportunity.

He had no intention of keeping the PlayStations himself. His research on eBay confirmed that PS3 fans were rabid and would pay any price!

Like any good marketer, he remembered the first rule: Determine what the market wants and sell it to them. As Mark Hendricks, a master marketer, and creator of the Christmas season giveaways, likes to say, that's the difference between "marketing" and "selling" -- it's much easier to make money when you're providing a much-wanted service.

Selling something no one wants is hard work, indeed. Marketing is easy.

I should have seen it too. I've studied with some great internet marketers. Most teach the basic principles of Robert Cialdini's book.

CHRISTMAS MADNESS...

During the Christmas season, online marketers flock to the Internet to collect gifts -- usually informational products and software tools. Always free, hence the name giveaway, the purpose is to drive traffic. All of Cialdini's six persuaders are used to create the buzz, exchange the gifts for e-mail addresses and names.

The 12 Days of Christmas is the granddaddy of the online giveaway extravaganza and Mark Hendricks is the father of the concept. For several years now, Mark has brought together more than 75 top marketers to giveaway hundreds of products during the month of December.

Because the concept worked so well and has become an Internet marketing staple, a gazillion giveaways pop up. It's now a standard tool in every marketer's toolkit. Why does it work so well. It's based on one of Cialdini's persuaders -- reciprocity.

I give you something and you'll feel obligated to give me something back. It's a technique used everywhere. When you go to the grocery, clerks stand at sample stations offering everything from cubes of cheese to portions of spaghetti and meatballs. Why? If you take a sample, chances are really good that you'll buy the product.

But at Christmas...Whew! It's tough to keep up and maintain enough free disk space on your computer for all the online giveaway opportunities.

The six persuaders (all included above) are real. Until I got involved in the Internet, I had no idea I was being "persuaded" at every turn. We all react to them, will forever, and have ever since the first caveman tried to sell the first hunk of meat to his neighbor.

It took a PlayStation 3 and AJ to point me back to the "real" world to see it in action there too.

Retail Web Marketer Must Know About Google Adwords

Google is one of the most popular things out there in the Internet. Google dominates the field of search engines. According to a recent study, Google is responsible for generating more than 70% of the clicks to web pages that are searched through search engines.

Google has also devised a way to be able to put Internet marketing through a whole different level. Because of its market dominance, it has the capability to be able to set up a new pay-per-click system which aims at matching sellers and buyers. Google has developed what is not referred to as the Google Adwords.

What is Google Adwords?

Google Adwords is one of the most promising advertising opportunities that abound in the Internet arena. It is a pay-per-click system that advertises websites which have the highest bids for a certain search word or phrase.

If one would look at the window of an Internet browser and search something on the Google search engine, he will notice a section containing sponsored links at the right-hand side of the screen. These are the Adwords advertisements. These are websites which pay to be shown whenever a certain phrase or word is searched through Google.

Bidding

Business bid for their preferred keywords when they use the Adwords system. For example, a business that is engaged in selling laptops may opt to bid for search phrases such as laptops for sale cheap notebooks if they are applicable to their products.

Bidding in the Google Adwords system to get the prime spots is primarily based on two factors: the click-thru-rate and the amount of the bid. The amount of the bid will depend on the bidder himself. Bids can go as low as a nickel per click up to fifty dollars per click. The bidder must know how much to spend because the system charges the bidding price whenever the website is clicked through the Adwords system. Another factor is the click-thru-rate, or the rate by which people are clicking the website. Usually, the top three sites that are shown on the Adwords screen are the most popular and have the highest bids.

How to Engage in Adwords

If one is looking into using the Google Adwords system as an advertising tool, he can read the guidelines and the terms of conditions through the Google website. There are a few steps which we could tackle on how to start using Google Adwords.

The first step is account creation. Google will guide you through this process. However, there are several things that one should take into consideration when creating an account. He should take into mind the different strategies that he would want to employ right from the start in terms of the selection of key words and the combinations of these words to be able to maximize the returns from engaging in this endeavor.

He should also target the right market in terms of selecting the right language and countries which he would want his ads to appear. If one is selling products which would be of no use for citizens of other countries or if the option of exporting the products is not available, he might as well stick with his own country. He wouldnt want to get charged by generating clicks from people who do not belong to the target market.

The creation of an Adgroup is also a basic step in using the Google Adwords system. One should be able to conceptualize and design an enticing advertisement and select the right combination of keywords.

Advertisements

Google will ask an advertiser what he would want to put in his advertisements. The advertisement should contain a title line and a body. The title line is composed of a maximum of 25 characters and the body should contain a maximum of two lines which contain 35 characters each.

The real challenge in designing advertisements for Google Adwords is to effectively attract customers and get them to click the website. A concise but striking advertisement is particularly efficient in getting the attention of the surfers.

Links

When a prospective customer clicks a website through the Google Adwords screen, a continuous set of efforts should be taken. The link in the Adword should not necessarily be the home page of a website but should be a web page wherein he can find information that is important to him. The link, perhaps, can be the products section of the website.

These are just some of the basic things that one must be able to digest to get a general feel of what Google Adwords is all about. One must be diligent in studying the different aspects of this system to be able to get the most out of it.

Search Engine Optimization And Online Businesses

Advertising online is one of the most efficient methods of advertising. SEO experts are vital for online advertising. There are a multitude of search engine firms, each promising success. It is important to choose most well known with the best reputation.

Search Engine Optimization firms are companies responsible for online advertisements. Their priority is to help businesses find success, using well-written captions and other methods to capture peoples attention.

Usually, once an SEO firm optimizes a Web site, the upsurge in traffic may vary from moderate to substantial. If the site is properly designed, most traffic may translate into sales.

There are additional effective techniques for marketing businesses, but SEO is unique in that it offers a continual return on investment long after the initial financing. It is notable that some sites get 80-90 percent of their traffic after using the SEO firms placement services.

SEO firms can also assist companies in understanding the technical aspects of site rankings.

They are also adept at writing proper meta tags, keyword-rich text and attaining link popularity and prominence.

These firms also provide the necessary tools and SEO services for your site to rank well with search engine spiders and robots.

SEO firms offer services to ensure a Web sites inclusion on search engines, and to boost the sites rankings.

SEO services include complimentary search engine ranking reports, keyword research, log file analysis, SEO copywriting, Web site analysis, web usability, creation of meta tags, link building, consultation, SEO onsite training, and project evaluation.

Search engine ranking reports are used to gauge the sites popularity in the searches for the Web sites main keywords. The report would serve as the starting point before optimization.

SEO firms utilize keyword research by identifying potential keywords and competition in respect to such keywords. The three key factors for keyword research are: popularity, competition, and convertibility.

Another method is log file analysis to determine where traffic is currently coming from and how much traffic was received. Such analysis is the foundation prior to optimization.

SEO copywriting is another of their services, writing keyword- and context-rich text.

Another service of these firms is the complete Web site analysis. They will analyze the basic visitors usability of the site.

An additional service of SEO firms is the web usability. The firms take care to ensure that the Web site is easy to use and navigate.

Also the firms create meta tags that create a relevant and eye-catching title for the site to attract traffic.

The last method is the link-building campaign which consists of finding appropriate, quality sites for link exchanges.

These SEO firms are a great help for businesses. Such services help an online business gain customers around the world. Don't underestimate how much you might benefit from their services.

"Folksonomies" - a New Viral Marketing Tool

A new consumer phenomenon is called "tagging" or "folksonomies" (short for folks and taxonomy). Tagging is powerful because consumers are creating an organizational structure for online content. Folksonomies not only enable people to file away content under tags, but, even better, share it with others by filing it under a global taxonomy that they created.

Here's how tagging works. Using sites such as del.icio.us - a bookmark sharing site and Flickr - a photo sharing site - consumers are collaborating on categorizing online content under certain keywords, or tags.

For instance, an individual can post photographs of their iPod on Flickr and file it under the tag "iPod." These images are now not only visible under the individual user's iPod tag but also under the community iPod tag that displays all images consumers are generating and filing under the keyword. Right now Flickr has more than 3,500 photos that are labeled "iPod."

Tagging is catching on because it is a natural complement to search. Type the word "blogs" into Google and it can't tell if you are searching for information about how to launch a blog, how to read blogs, or just what. Large and small sites alike are already getting on to the folksonomy train. They are rolling out tag-like structures to help users more easily locate content that's relevant to them.

Although tags are far from perfect, marketers should, nevertheless, be using them to keep a finger on the pulse of the American public. Start subscribing to RSS feeds to monitor how consumers are tagging information related to your product, service, company or space. These are living focus groups that are available for free, 24/7. Folksonomy sites can be also be carefully used to unleash viral marketing campaigns - with a caveat. Marketers should be transparent in who they are, why they are posting the link/photos and avoid spamming the services.

Internet Marketing Or Network Marketing - Which Is Better?

When I interact with most online marketers, it's obvious that they view Internet marketing and network marketing as two separate and very distinct worlds. Proponents of either often act as if the other is something to be avoided like the plague.

I personally am involved in marketing for, and consulting with, companies in both worlds. I've discovered that there is a lot of overlap, and that there are techniques which work equally well in both worlds.

Let's briefly examine how they differ, and which is better.

Network marketing, or MLM, is very familiar to most people because we've all been approached by someone in the offline world who is doing it. We've been invited to meetings, or sat through presentations where they demonstrated what they did, and how it could mean financial independence for you.

I generally think of network marketing as:

- Being multiple-tiered - where you earn on the efforts of others that you recruit.

- Offering residual income, where you sell the product once, and then earn commissions each month as the customer reorders a consumable product.

- Utilizing auto-shipment, where the customer agrees to purchase a certain amount of the product or service each month... generally at a lower price that if it were a one-time purchase.

- Requiring lots of phone calls, meetings, and direct interaction with the customers.

- Allowing representatives to grow their businesses through duplicable systems where they just plug new representatives into a proven system.

I generally think of Internet marketing as:

- Utilizing a two-tiered (at most) payment plan. When you go beyond two-tiers the rules change dramatically for the program operator.

- Emphasizing earning commissions primarily on your own efforts although many super-affiliates also earn hefty second-tier commissions.

- Marketing primarily using email and websites, although RSS, broadcast calls, teleseminars, and even direct mail can fit into the picture. There is a movement towards using offline methods to drive business online.

- Often only offering one-time commissions on individual sales.

- Requiring very little direct customer interaction, although the most successful affiliate marketers focus more on interacting with customers and building relationships.

Which is better? Obviously, that's a loaded question with room for lots of differences in opinion.

Generally, whichever best serves YOUR customers needs is better for you.

Whichever offers your customers something that they can't buy cheaper at the local superstore obviously should sell better for you.

Long-term, lasting success in both isn't based upon throwing around big numbers, when you know that the average person probably won't achieve the level of success offered in the examples. That's because both depend upon how well your new "recruits" can utilize the system that you equip them with and the level of commitment that they have.

Both can offer residual income, and I personally do generate substantial residual income with both systems. Internet marketing offers residual income through products such as web hosting, membership sites, and product-of-the-month type sites.

An example of such a site is Dr. Mike Woo-Ming's Affiliate "Sales Letters" which offers affiliate marketers re-written sales letters for Clickbank products that otherwise would be poor sellers. This is an excellent example of a product that solves a problem, and offers to the affiliate/member a residual income. You can see how this works at: http://WillieCrawford.com/fix-bad-sites.html

Ordinary consumer products can also offer very nice residual income. In order to be a big success in the network marketing arena the product must offer unique advantages AND be priced competitively. Very often, you'll see products that are WAY over-priced, and they're that way because there is no real demand in the marketplace and the high commissions are what are used to "lure" unsavvy new distributors.

These unfortunate distributors are lured into businesses built on very shaky foundations. If you look in the right places though, you will find products that people want, that they are buying, and that you can offer at a competitive rate. Here are two examples:

1) Discount travel through YTB travel. This is a network marketing company that allows your customers to tap directly into one of THE BIGGEST online travel databases and book travel, reserve lodging, and reserve rental cars. Travelers get great deals, and you earn a commission on each referral booking that you make. You can see this incredible system in action at: http://www.ytbnet.com/williecrawford

The url above is the one that I link to from a site that helps people locate Internet marketing seminars at: http://InternetMarketingSeminarScheudule.com After they've located a "can't miss" seminar, it's natural for them to look for inexpensive travel and accommodations. Therefore, selling travel becomes effortless.

I offer the same travel booking service on a site where I help martial artists locate karate tournaments. Again, it is natural for site visitors to book their travel once they've located an event that they want to attend. You can see how I do this in the martial arts niche at: http://Tournamentsite.com

This same method of marketing travel... selling an MLM product using "Internet marketing techniques" shows how the distinction can quickly become blurred.

Another product where I seamless blend Internet marketing and network marketing, with a product that sells itself, practically hands off, is... greeting cards.

I offer visitors to many of my consumer-type sites the ability to send real, printed greeting cards right over the Internet, for a fraction of the cost that they would pay in a card shop. They get the same quality of card, don't have to travel... brave the weather... fight the crowds, or even lick stamps. They just choose and compose the card, add any photo they desire, click send, and the card is in the mail, for around $1.50 TOTAL :-)

You can check out that slick setup, and see how effortless it really can be at: http://SendOutCards.com/willie

Back to the question of which is better - Internet marketing or network marketing...

Both can actually be marketed the same way. You can market Internet marketing products via phone, fax, email, direct mail, or a website. You can do the same with network marketing products.

The bottom line is that the "want" for a product, and the availability of that product at a great price, are more important than method of selling. Which is better therefore depends upon which is a better match for you and your market. You can do very well with either. It's really just a matter of doing your research, finding a perfect market-to-product match, and then starting to actively build your dream business. You'll likely find yourself using a mixture of methods regardless of the product.

What is Peace?

[ Al - Quran - 59.23 ]

He is Allah, besides Whom there is no god; the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, Guardian over all, the Mighty, the Supreme, the Possessor of every greatness Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him).

Peace is something that everyone wants probably more than anything else. Yet since time began, this world has never known true peace. With all the technological advances that have profoundly changed the way we live, we still have not found a workable formula.

Yes, we can produce a long list of steps that can be taken to promote peace. The list includes education, communication, understanding, economic assistance, negotiation, statesmanship, treaties, protocols and other government mechanisms to minimize friction and resolve disputes. However, we know from unfortunate experience that these approaches do not always succeed.

There is another major force for peace, and I am personally convinced through the lessons of history, witnessed by science and confirmed by culture that beacon of hope. It is a force which offers civilization the best hope for wide-spread and lasting accord around the globe. Islam, the only solution to world peace.

Challenge your soul is the expressions we used to reflect mans search and need for inner peace, happiness and tranquility. This translates in ones pursuit of the worldly gratifications, such as money, power, wealth and recognition. For them it is not just a choice a life-style but a system of life, hence becomes religion. For others, such gratifications can be had from seeking a meaning, understanding and conviction of the purpose of life. Their quest usually takes them to acknowledging a divine order and the pursuit to please The Supreme and Guardian over all in hope of a time immortal with everlasting, happiness and tranquility. For them this is not only a choice of a system of life but also preference of a life-style. (FULL Article at http://articles.challengeyoursoul.com/index.php?articleId=2&categoryId=1)

Self-Talk And The Hypnotic Motivation Formula For Success

Have you ever tried to do away with a negative behavior, only to not succeed? There is list of familiar problem behaviors that people often try to alter or eradicate using self-hypnosis or NLP. The most common are: Overeating and weight loss; stop smoking; quit chewing tobacco; stop nail biting; increasing self-confidence; overcoming insomnia and sleeping better; improving memory; and managing stress.

WHAT THE MIND CAUSES, THE MIND CAN CURE: The motivation for our behaviors starts in our thoughts. If you stop and think about it, all of these unconstructive behaviors are the product of negative thinking. In other words, you think and motivate yourself into all of these behaviors. Or at least you think yourself into feeling tense, and that can trigger these behaviors. And since you think and motivate yourself into these behaviors, you can think and motivate yourself out of them as well. But in order to successfully think and motivate yourself out of these behaviors, you will need to know the "Motivation Formula For Success."

DESIRE: You're possibly reading this commentary for the reason that you want the motivation to change something about yourself. And that's opportune because the first component in the "Motivation Formula For Your Success" is that you must want or desire to change. If you have read this far, at least a little part of you wishes a change.

BELIEF IS REQUIRED FOR MOTIVATION: Before anyone can change a harmful behavior, that person must be motivated to do so. Merely desiring a change is insufficient.

Our motivation comes from what we believe. If we believe that something very important to us will get better or "become enhanced" if we modify our behavior, we will feel motivated. Conversely, if we believe that something very important to us will be in jeopardy if we don't make a change in our behavior, we will also experience motivation to make a change.

Some straightforward examples of these motivational beliefs would be:

If I lose weight, then I'll be able to get a date or find someone to love me.

If I kick my smoking habit, then I'll be healthier.

If I improve my study habits, then I can graduate with honors.

TECHNOLOGIES THAT CAN CREATE THE BELIEFS THAT LEAD TO MOTIVATION: Neuro-Linguistic Programming - which is commonly known as NLP, provides methods that are able to immediately produce the element of belief. You can study more about this by reading the articles "How To Get Motivated To Exercise Using Hypnosis And NLP" and "Motivation Theory - How To Quit Smoking Using NLP And Hypnosis For Motivation." These articles are both available in my free hypnosis research library.

DECISION: The dictionary defines the word "Decision" as making up one's mind / a verdict or judgment. When you believe an idea that gives you a powerful feeling of motivation to make a change, you will feel bound to make a decision to get rid of a negative behavior. Decision is the key that unlocks the door to taking action.

ACTION: The dictionary definition of the word "Action" is an act or deed / to do or perform. When you take action it means that rather than just thinking about making personal changes, you will actually take steps to bring about your desired changes.

SELF-TALK: One of the reasons that most individuals fail to change or eliminate a negative behavior is because of what they say to themselves. Self-talk is significant because time and again it is part of what caused the negative behavior in the first place.

I'd like you to think about this for a moment: Let's say that you want to stop smoking. Possibly the first thing that you might say or think to yourself is: "I'm not going to smoke any longer."

It is universal for people to tell themselves what they aren't going to do. Unfortunately, when we tell ourselves what we aren't going to do, we are actually compelling ourselves to do it!

SELF-TALK EXERCISE: Say the following to yourself: I can't see blue. I can't see polka dots . . . . . . .

I'll bet your mind showed you the color blue, and then it showed you polka dots. That's because when we tell ourselves what we aren't going to do, in order to make sense of it our mind must make an image of us doing what it is that we want to stop doing. And when we see ourselves participating in a behavior, our mind compels us to create that behavior.

SUMMARY: In order to modify a negative behavior, we must first want or DESIRE to eliminate it. BELIEF is the ingredient that creates MOTIVATION. MOTIVATION is the drive that leads us to DECISION. DECISION is the impetus to ACTION. NLP is a technology that we can use to facilitate beliefs, motivation, decisions, and actions.

When we tell ourselves what we aren't going to do, we make a mental image of ourselves using the behavior that we want to eliminate. And that mental picture gives us a compulsion to create the unwanted behavior. So if we want to get rid of a negative behavior, rather than tell ourselves what we won't do, we must always tell ourselves what we will do.

To break the smoking habit (http://www.neuro-vision.us/Products/AudioQuitSmokingHypnosisTape.htm) say: "I can live without them."

To abolish cravings for high calorie foods or to give up smokeless (http://www.neuro-vision.us/Products/Quit-Smokeless-Tobacco-Hypnosis-CDs.htm) say: "I can live without it."

To reduce stress say: "I'm relaxed and calm, both mentally and physically."

To fall asleep quickly and overcome insomnia say: "I fall asleep promptly, and sleep soundly throughout the entire night."

What Is Spam? How To Identify And Block It?

Almost everyone who used to communicate via e-mail has ever found in the Inbox the messages from people he doesnt know proposing some services or products. All unsolicited and undesired messages you receive are SPAM. The emails of this kind usually offer pharmaceutical products, diet methods, sexual enhancements aid, and get rich quick plans. You can also meet bogus sales pitches, sales opportunities, and different types of scams. In addition to stock scams, in which spammers encourage you to invest money, a new spam-scam gambit called phishing is becoming very popular now. This scam is aimed to obtaining peoples private information such as user name, password, credit card details, etc. An example is an email coming from PayPal or Ebay asking you to go to the companys web site and update your account. If you do it, the spammers will record your keystrokes and your private details will be disclosed to them. And have you ever received pitiful letters from a widow or a relative of the former ruler of Nigeria? Sure you have. Its a famous Nigerian fraud that is still having a place on the Internet. Dont be enticed by the millions they would promise you. All they want is your bank account details in order to rob you.

How do you identify spam among legitimate messages? You usually look at the senders name, which may be unknown to you or contain some gibberish. You also read the subject line of the message. As a rule the subject line of spam emails concerns gambling, pornography, or an offer to make a fortune in 24 hours. But the spammers are also able to create an email identical to legitimate one coming from a respected source. In other cases, the subject lines may indicate that the message is a reply to your email. A general way to distinguish spam is to read the To and From header fields in all the messages you receive. If you see strange, anonymous or scrambled alpha-numeric email addresses (for example, gt4590xx@domain.com) then you have spam. Some anti-spam solutions provide you with the capability to preview the emails. For example, in addition to a safe message content preview, G-Lock SpamCombat allows you analyze the message header in detail: From, To, Subject, Received and other header fields.

How to block spam? Remember, the point of spam is to have you open the email. Once you do it, the least trouble you may have is to let the spammer know that your email address is valid. Its luck for a spammer. He can continue spamming you in the hope that earlier or later you will swallow the bait. Or, he can sell your email address to someone else. Also, be aware that spammers send millions emails at a time, so even a very tiny response rate is a great success for them. Lets imagine that 100 out of 10 millions people invested 5 dollars each into a scam offered by a spammer. So, the spammer makes 500 dollars at a time.

If you are really suffering from a continuous spam flow, you can consider getting a new email address and disclose it to trusted senders only. Or, you can start clearing your inbox from spam right away using anti-spam software. Although not perfect, anti-spam filters are now very sophisticated and very effective at cutting out most of spam.

Anti-spam programs basically do one or more of the following things:

1. Check the senders email addresses and names against a blacklist of spammers they own and delete the message if the sender is on the blacklist.

2. Check the recipients email addresses and names and filter the messages according to certain parameters. For example, if the email is sent to a large group of recipients sorted alphabetically, the email is considered spam.

3. Analyze the message content and subject line and search for certain words or phrases, which are typically met in spam emails such as Viagra, Cialis, Mortgage, Invest and filter the spam email accordingly.

There are many kinds of anti spam solutions now. Software developers offer standalone spam blockers like Mail Washer, Spam Nullifier, G-Lock SpamCombat, etc. Most of the big, free email services such as Yahoo!, Google, MSN, and Hotmail also provide effective spam filtering. You just need to choose the right anti-spam solution that will serve you in the most effective way.

Why You Should Talk to Fat and Ugly Girls

From Pickupmastery.com:

One thing Ive been noticing from going out lately is that the hottest girls I end up making out with or number closing usually arent in the set when I open..

What happens is I go up to some girls who are maybe 5s to 6s, and chat with them, get them giggling, etc. From there, a hot girl, maybe an 8-9 walks up and introduces herself to me. Believe it or not, a lot of hot girls roll with less attractive girls. From there on you already have the groups comfort and appreciation so it is easy to isolate the hot girl from there.

Just two weeks I had rolled up to a couple less than attractive girls and said You seem fun, I just had to say hi. We were chatting back and forth, when a hot 8.9 came up. I started doing some dance spins with her around, and within a minute said Your legs are tired, my legs are tired; Lets go sit at that booth. I took her by the hand and led her to a booth away from the others and we started cuddling. Within minutes, we were making out and I got her number. Shes still calling me back and were setting up a meet soon.

Now could this have worked had I waited until the 8.9 was already in the set? Of course. But Ive found it to be far easier to attract a girl if you hit the set before she arrives. Youve already won over her friends at this point. Even if you havent won over her friends it can still work well if youre already in the set. Some months back, I went up to two girls who werent that interested, and a third girl came up who was interested. She stayed behind when her friends left and we ended up making out at the bar.

On a more general note, you should be playfully bantering with all types of women, and guys as well. Throughout your day, you should be bringing joyful interactions to as many people as possible. The fat ghetto girl serving you at Burger King? Make her smile. You dont have to outright flirt of course, but just a little playful misinterpretation can help the day.

Also by talking to as many people as possible you can sort of neg the girls you finally legitimately approach. If you only go up to hot girls in a bar, the girls around you notice that youre gaming. However if youre talking to one legged girls and random guys all around the bar, when youre finally going up to the hot girls, they assume youre just being social and that Its not a full blown approach.

Romantic Christmas Gift Ideas Shell Love

Christmas is a magical time, especially when you get to spend it with the one you love. But finding that one Christmas gift idea for your girlfriend, fiance or wife can be a daunting task if youve just started dating and youre not sure what shed like, or, youve been together or known her for a long time and youre not sure what to buy the woman who has everything.

If youre just stumped and cant quite decide on what to give her, but you are looking for romantic Christmas gift ideas that will sweep her off of her feet, keep in mind that the best Christmas gift ideas require some time and effort on your part.

Here are some ideas that go beyond the impersonal gift certificate or typical scarf to get you thinking about some alternatives that may put a sparkle in her eye this Christmas.

A Christmas Engagement

There are few romantic Christmas gift ideas that can top getting engaged over the holidays. You are giving her the gift of your love and commitment, and her finger is decorated with a beautiful testament to your feelings for her.

Of course you can go over-the-top with planning the wedding engagement renting a limo, an expensive dinner for two, and maybe even a horse and buggy ride. But if youd rather put that money toward getting her a ring, or saving it for the wedding, you can create a memorable experience for her with little expense.

Cook Dinner Yourself Even if you arent the worlds greatest cook, she will enjoy the fact that you took the time to create a meal for her.

A Romantic Walk Taking a walk after dinner, under the stars, to enjoy the Christmas lights can be absolutely enchanting, especially if you get down on one knee and slip a gorgeous diamond engagement ring on her finger.

The Family Gathering Turned Engagement Party If either your family or hers is planning to get together a little before the holidays, contact the hosts ahead of time and let them know you will be proposing. You may be able to make the gathering twice as festive an annual event bringing the family together, and an opportunity to celebrate your engagement at the same time.

But if getting engaged is not in your plans for the holidays, you can always express your love with jewelry. A pair of diamond earrings with a matching necklace or pendant is a classic choice, or, you can choose to start a tradition by giving her a gold charm bracelet that can be added onto holiday after holiday.

Traveling

Whether youre going for the exotic island location, an outdoor adventure, or you want to completely romance her, the surprise of a vacation getaway (that she doesnt have to plan) is a romantic Christmas gift idea that will have her glowing with happiness. Giving her the opportunity to relax and truly put her obligations on hold, whether for a week or a weekend, is a gift all by itself and if she can do this in her favorite kind of setting, you will definitely touch her heart.

Heres a few sites to visit to begin planning the trip:

For the islands if she wants to sit back and relax, these two sites are a one-stop shop for all-inclusive packages:

For adventure a vacation filled with fun, outdoor activities is easy to plan with these sites:

For romance youll find that Paris is not the only option for on-location romance with these options:

Spoil Her

Pamper her by combining a trip at the spa, a shopping spree and time with her friends for a luxurious day or weekend.

Every woman enjoys feeling like a princess, and theres nothing quite like the VIP treatment you get at a spa. Go beyond the standard manicure and pedicure and tie both of these pamper sessions in with a facial, massage and/or body wrap. Most spas offer packages for these services, so ask some women you know to name their favorite luxurious spas.

The only thing better than a holistic spa treatment by herself is having a girlfriend or two go with her. Talk with one of her friends boyfriends and suggest he use the same Christmas gift idea for his girlfriend so both women can share the experience together.

Combine this with lunch or dinner reservations at an exclusive or hot, new restaurant in the area, and a shopping spree, courtesy of your credit card, and she will come home at the end of the day, relaxed, renewed and grateful to you.

The best way to find a good local spa in your city, or even in your state, is to get a referral from someone who has been there. But if you really want to take things to the next level, you can send her to a retreat at one of the worlds best spas.

Or, instead of spending the time with one of her friends, you can offer to join her for some time completely dedicated to her needs and interests. Probably the best Christmas gift idea for your girlfriend, fiance or wife is to give her the gift of your time turning off the Blackberry, forgetting the to-do lists, canceling the meetings, and completely focusing your attention on her and letting her know how much shes appreciated. And, taking the time to participate in her day could bring the two of you closer together.

Any Christmas gift idea for your girlfriend, fiance or wife should involve some thought, creativity and planning. If you combine those three elements, any romantic Christmas gift idea that you have will go over well. Because, after all, isnt she going to put a lot of thought and effort into your Christmas gift? Truly show your love by doing the same for her this holiday season.

Internet Marketing Training Solutions

Have you signed up for a new internet marketing business and still dont know what to do? You decided some time ago that you wanted to work from home but you didnt know how to get started and there is a lot of information out there.

Maybe you found the business that you want to be marketing but you are still confused about where to market on the internet. There is email marketing, safelist advertising, classified advertising, search engine advertising and the list goes on. You even wonder what a search engine is? Theres a difference between free advertising and paid advertising. Theres traffic exchanges and banner advertising.

One of the most important lessons I have ever learned is to have a system and keep track of what you do. If we look at the system, we have to be sure it can function not only for you and me but also for those that will become part of your business. After all, network marketing is a business design that is meant to have a network of people that work together for the growth of the business. The structure is as important as the products that are being marketed.

Lets put the products to the side for the purpose of this article. The reason for this is because many of us have different companies that we are marketing products for and our purpose is to be a conveyance of products from the producer to the consumer, nothing more. When talking about a marketing system, we are talking about a system to introduce potential business owners to participate in one or more various aspects of the network marketing business. While talking about the marketing system, we are also talking about a marketing training program as well and this article is a component of an internet marketing training program.

We will break it down to a very simple form. Im going to take one aspect and that is list building. With this aspect, we will not get into advertising techniques except to remind ourselves that it is the internet advertising and also offline advertising (such as newspaper advertising and mail order advertising) that function to bring list building to fruition.

THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST. This is the one statement to remember if you forget everything else in your internet marketing training. Whether we are talking about network marketing, internet marketing, direct sales or any other marketing program, business is conducted by people working with people. This even goes for traditional business. What is the most powerful form advertisement? Word of mouth! In business, when you satisfy your customer, you will get 5, 10 maybe 20 referrals. When you let your customer down or act unprofessional, they will tell EVERYONE they know.

List building. List building is the number one activity for any business owner or network marketer. How you go about this is probably another 1500 articles! Lets keep it simple. The reason for putting someone on your list is so you hopefully have a customer for life. You introduce yourself through your advertising and invite the prospect to join your list. Maybe you didnt get that. This is the most important line in this article. Read it again: (You introduce yourself through your advertising and invite the prospect to join your list.) No matter how it happens, you are asking your prospect to join your list and they agree. This agreement could be in the form of them filling out a form on a website to sending an email to an autoresponder. Your goal is to add as many good quality prospects to your mailing list as possible so you can keep in touch with them through your mail system. Your mailing system could be them joining your opt-in mail, autoresponder, newsletter, ezine or etc.

Theres 2 distinct factors of your mailing list. First, you are advertising to invite new prospects to your mailing list. The second factor of your mailing list is mailing follow up messages to the people that agreed to join your list. Once you have your business(es) up and running, the people on your list are valuable to you. As an established internet marketer, each member of your list has an average monthly value to you. One major marketer commented that each member of his list is worth $1 per month on average. This doesnt mean everyone on his list sent him $1 every month but this is the average across everyone that was on his list. If this was a market average, this would mean you could estimate making $1,000 if your list had 1,000 members on it. Of course, you have to have the business or sales opportunities and mailings to your list to make this happen.

Now that you see the value of your mailing list, all you need to do is build it. For the purpose of this article, all I wanted to do is show you the value of your mailing list and the importance of having a System to build that mailing list with. Lets go one step further. Remember, I mentioned how you go about building that mailing list can be about 1500 articles? Lets keep it simple. Instead of going all over the internet looking for 1500 articles (most of them wont serve your purpose), keep in touch for more marketing tidbits of information. We will discuss building that mailing list with a generic marketing system. Further, the marketing system is designed to market any business that you are promoting. (We hope you are promoting a valid marketing program as well.)

A Guide To Starting A Career In Video Games Prepare Yourself For A Break-In!

Starting a career in the video game industry used to a difficult thing; there were very few options and very few schools that could teach the required cutting edge skills. If you wanted to choose this path you had to be self taught. Today this dilemma has been turned upside down. You now have a plethora of schools to choose from and lots of programs and specialties to decide amongst. Here is some advice on what the industry has to offer and what you can do to prepare yourself.

The video game industry has changed over the past ten years. It has matured and is now a full-fledged industry. This means that there are plenty of opportunities to find a rewarding career without being a hot-shot game programmer. As a matter of fact, the days of the hot shot developer are pretty much over. In todays world the creation of a state of the art video game now requires a dedicated team of employees with a wide range of skills and interests.

What does this mean for you? It means opportunity in a lot of different disciplines and it means that you have to specialize within a subgenre of the big picture of "Making Video Games". But before you pack off and go to a video game school or dish out the dollars for an online school there are some things you should do and some things you need to know.

1. Learn the basic concepts of game design

Have an understanding of video games, how they're played, and what they're all about. You should have a feel for the game industry; know what games are out there, what styles of play they have, and how they handle the game playing experience. Chances are good that you already fulfill this requirement.

Have an understanding of the underlying principles of game design. There are several ways that you can do this. I recommend one or both of these methods to get you started in this:

Build Mods Mods are modifications of existing games. Quake is a famous game for this approach. You use the mod builder software and you build levels or worlds that can be added right into the game itself. The Mod sub culture is very vibrant and you can find a lot of support and help. To gain even better experience that translates well into a corporate environment you should join a volunteer Mod development team. This gives you good teamwork experience and gives you insight on how a video game project is broken down into pieces.

Get a free or inexpensive Game engine development suite and build your own games. You can build adequate and fun to play games on your own this way. I recommend you do this with the Genesis 3d Game development software. It is completely free.

2. Get familiar with some of the professions in the industry and the tools that are used.

There are a whole host of tools that game design teams use. And the tools you would use are dependent on what role you would play on the team. Here is an overview of some of the different jobs in the industry and what software tools they would use.

If you like drawing and painting with traditional tools you might want to consider being a concept artist. They do all their work with off computer art tools. They would conceptualize and draw the scenes and the creatures in a game.

If you think you might like computer designing worlds and scenes in a video game you should consider being a 2-dimensional artist. They create all the structures, textures and backgrounds in game worlds. Photoshop is the de-facto program for this job. If you can afford a copy of this program you will get a definite insight into this career path. If you cannot afford Photoshop you should consider getting Paint Shop Pro. It is less expensive and very similar to Photoshop and it will give you a good foundation into the world of 2-dimensional artwork.

If Characters and models are what you are enthusiastic about you should consider becoming a 3-Dimensional Model Artist. This type of artist is concerned with making the characters, monsters, creatures and objects that inhabit a video game world. In this area of game art the choice of software is not as straight-forward as in the 2d art. The most accepted software is 3D studio Max. Two other popular programs are Maya and SoftImage. If you are looking for a free 3d modeling tool that will get you started you may want to get Milkshape. It is a tool designed for the game Half-Life.

The concepts of modeling are universal so the skills will transfer from one tool to the other. You will just have to learn the specifics of the new tool which will be easy enough.

Animator - This is the person that makes the characters and objects in the game move. It is a very specific skill and it takes good understanding of animation to get things right. There are many software programs that are used for animation and they include Macromedia Flash, Alias/Wavefront, 3D Studio Max and Lightwave 3D.

Programmer - This is something that is a little more traditional when we think of video game making "Programming" and it is a very wide field that can find you doing almost anything in the video game making arena. A programmer could be called upon to do any number of things from managing a database to designing the artificial intelligence within a game or creating specialized software tools that other designers use to create the game.

Other Opportunities in Video game design - There are many other jobs in the video game industry ranging from Script and story writer to even network administrator or computer maintenance and repair technician.

Today there are many different career paths that can be taken into the video game industry. This requires you to specialize in a set of skills. Understanding what these different skills are and getting a head start now will increase your marketability in the very competitive video game industry.

Factors That Drive Web 2.0 Marketing

Drive Community Participation

People naturally congregate around common passions or interests. Connecting and interacting with others who feel the same way and who share common experiences creates stronger bonds. Savvy marketers use this level of participation as the foundation of their online communities and as a cornerstone of their loyalty efforts.

Customers who are strongly engaged in a particular community are more likely to remain attached to the group, participate in group activities more often, and recommend the brand community to non-members.

Two Way Communication

A one-way, marketing-driven conversation no longer engages customers. Building trust and earning loyalty is the act of creating a dialogue with customers: talking, discussing, sharing and, above all else, listening.

Marketers have at their fingertips an array of technologies (such as forums, chat rooms, private messaging and live conferencing) to facilitate conversations with their customers. Being able to easily contribute opinions and ideas connects the customer to them, but what strengthens this relationship is when the marketer embraces the customer as a partner in the dialogue, and truly listens to what he/she has to say, and acts on it.

Plasma Television Buying Guide

Calculating the Correct Distance

In setting up the environment for your plasma TV, a primary consideration is to determine the screen size to match the floor plan or available space where the plasma will be displayed.

Plasma monitors are measured diagonally across the screen, just like any other television set. You can typically choose from the following sizes: 32", 40", 42", 46", 50", 61", or 63". Bigger is not always better, and a certain distance must be maintained between the plasma TV and the viewing area for optimal viewing experience. Sitting too far away diminishes the overall impact. Sitting too close, however, could also present its own problems - as when you start seeing the screen's "structure"; i.e., the dots or pixels that make up the plasma display.

In determining the appropriate TV size for you, you should also consider the space required to install the unit itself. When recessing a plasma display unit, allow at least 3 inches of open space at the top of the unit and adequate ventilation space of at least 2 inches behind it as well. Remember, too, that most plasma displays do not have built-in speakers, so you'll need to allow space enough to attach speakers.

What You Can Watch on Your Plasma TV

You can choose between HDTV (High Definition TV) and EDTV (Enhanced Definition TV) for your choice of plasma display. Which type you prefer depends on the kind of material you intend to watch on the plasma.

EDTV is the perfect entry point into digital television, with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio and an image resolution that is 200% better than today's analog televisions. On the other hand, HDTV has up to four times the resolution and colors compared to EDTV, offering the ultimate visual and sound experience.

At present, only a limited number of programs are broadcast in true high-definition format (all major networks broadcast HD counterparts to their regular analog-signal broadcasts). In fact, if you plan to use a plasma HDTV for regular TV programming, you may be surprised to find that regular TV programming may even appear slightly worse, as the big screen exaggerates the flaws in standard TV programs. DVD images from most of the currently available DVD titles on the market today also do not fare as well on true HD plasmas. In fact, these DVD images appear better on EDTV plasma units, because the image resolution of a widescreen DVD (nominally 740 x 480) more closely matches the actual resolution (852 x 480) of the EDTV plasma display.

Why bother with a High Definition TV at all, you may ask? Because HDTV, paired with a true High-Definition or high-quality source, can produce truly stunning images. With a progressive-scan DVD player paired with, say, any of the recently released HD-DVD or forthcoming Blu-ray DVD titles (encoded in true HD format), your plasma HDTV can come to spectacular life and bring out unrivaled image quality. And as more TV programming becomes available in High-Definition format with the looming of the FCC deadline for switching to all-digital broadcasting, plasma HDTV sets will have more TV content to show. One thing's for sure: Your HDTV won't be obsolete anytime in the next few years.

Plasma TV

Specifications When comparing plasma TV sets, it's important to know what to look for to make sense of the specifications you're presented with. Below is a quick rundown on the necessary specs that you need to weigh before making that all-important purchase decision.

Resolution: Resolution is a determining factor in selecting a plasma TV. Do you want HDTV or EDTV? HDTV, with a resolution of at least 1024 x 720, is the ultimate visual and sound experience, but what is available for viewing on HD is currently restricted to a few HD channels on cable, as well as the newly emerging - and necessarily few - DVD titles from the HD-DVD and Blu-ray DVD formats. On the other hand, most of the currently available DVDs actually play better when viewed on EDTV, because the image resolution of a widescreen DVD (nominally 740 x 480) more closely matches the actual resolution (852 x 480) of the EDTV plasma display. Choosing the type of plasma TV that you want, therefore, is a question that should be considered along with the type of content you frequently watch or will be watching on your plasma.

Inputs: A plasma television should work with any existing video component with standard A/V, S-Video, or Component Video outputs. In addition, most plasma TVs have DVI or HDMI connections for use with high-definition sources. Some plasma TVs also have VGA input connections that allow them to be used as monitors for a PC. At the minimum, look for the following specifications on a plasma connection: DVI-I or DVI-D, Component, RCA or Composite, and S-Video. Take into consideration your current component set-up - such as your satellite system, cable box, DVD player, and external stereo components - and see what kind of inputs or connectors they use.

Tuner: Check your plasma to see if it is HD-ready or HD-integrated. An HD-ready plasma TV is essentially a monitor that needs an external tuner source before it can function as a TV. An HD-integrated panel has a tuner built into the set and is ready for use. If you receive your HDTV programming via cable or satellite instead of over-the-air, you may not need a tuner at all, as you will be using the set-top boxes provided by your cable/satellite service to receive HDTV programming. Check with your cable or satellite providers for more details. Some cable/satellite companies do away with set-top boxes and provide their subscribers with cable cards instead. Check with your cable/satellite provider if they provide cable cards and the cable-card type that they offer, and then check the specification on the plasma for cable card slots.

Contrast Ratio: Contrast ratio is the measurement that determines the variation between the whitest and darkest parts of the image. This is an important specification, since plasma TVs with a low contrast ratio will make dark images look muddy and gray while making light images look washed out. A good measure of contrast ratio is 1,000:1 or higher. Anything less than 1,000:1 - especially on a set that is 42" or larger - may not provide optimal viewing experience.

Brightness: Without sufficient brightness, your image will look muddy and soft - even in a dark room. Viewing distance, screen size, and ambient room light will also affect the need for more brightness capability. A brightness rating listed at 550 cd/m2 or higher is good, but don't get bogged down with the technical number listed. Instead, make sure that the screen is bright enough for your needs as you conduct your own visual inspection.

Panel Life: Look for a minimum of 60,000 hours of panel life in your plasma specifications. This is the rating on how long it would take before your panel has half the brightness compared to when it was new. A 60,000-hour spec translates to approximately 20 years of viewing at 8 hours per day. (This approximation may vary, depending on the source and type of content, settings, environment, and use of your plasma TV.)

Anti-burn-in/Pixel Shift: Burn-in refers to the remnants burned on to the screen after a static image has been left on the plasma for a long period of time. To minimize or prevent burn-in, determine if the plasma panel utilizes burn-in protection, such as power management settings, full-time picture or pixel shift (both vertical and horizontal) technologies, or automatic screensaver functions.

Speakers: If you plan to use an external surround sound system, you won't need audio speakers, but most plasma TV sets include speakers that rated anywhere from 7-12 Watts Pre-amp - which is much better than that of conventional TVs and sufficient for most viewing. Check your plasma's specifications to see if it comes with speakers and if the speakers are removable.

Universal Remote: A universal remote can take the place of having one remote, so that it controls all the various components of your TV system, such as the DVD player, audio, cable/satellite etc. If you plan on buying a universal remote, check to see if it's supported by the plasma set of your choice to make sure the plasma accepts universal remote devices.

Power Consumption: Power consumption for plasmas range from 240 watts to over 500 watts, If you're concerned with how much energy a plasma set may use, check its specifications to determine power consumption. Units tend to have higher wattage requirements as the screen increases. A good rule of thumb is to compare similar-sized units together; units with higher wattages tend to use inferior components as a rule.

7 Killer Internet Marketing Strategies Thatll Turn Your Website Into a Money Machine

I suppose a website should work like a fast marketing machine and nothing less. Thats why my websites tick. Because I realize a functional marketing website ought to bring in cash and not just entertain visitors.

What does your website do? Find out This might be the only thing you need to do about your online marketing problems.

Too many websites are wrongly designed... thats why we have online entrepreneurs getting out of business claiming people dont buy on-line! But let me ask you: Has anyone ever visited your website? If your answer is Yes, you could have made at least a sale at one time on-line right? Yes. Thats why I tell you if that prospect eludes your entire Internet marketing strategy, you must hold yourself responsible. Excuses are not allowed.

Internet marketing may not have turned out as you expected, you should even be more thankful; because if it were easy, the field would be flooded with dabblers and that would reduce the amount of money you could earn. Your business is to discover how to make the task easier, so you can lock up your own share of the market.

Hi, my name is Ambrose Ariagiegbe and there are secrets I know that can help you harvest the windfall profits sitting right in front of you on-line everyday and these strategies can help you become the biggest money maker in your industry in no time!

In this article, Im going to show you 7 killer Internet marketing strategies that can easily triple your website sales in the next 90 days. If you take out a little time and tweak your website the way I show you, I guarantee youll experience remarkable results.

Internet Marketing Strategy #1: Create A FAQ Page

You must create a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page for your website. Often times, your prospects would have questions about your offer. You should try to predict the kind of questions they most likely would want to ask, and answer them on a separate web page. This is one important way to close up more sales speedily.

Internet Marketing Strategy #2: Use the Preference Close Technique

This is based on the fact that people like to make choices. They dont like to feel like theyre being ordered around or given an ultimatum. Give them the opportunity to make choices a lot in your sales copy and youll be luring them into doing what you want. Give them several choices with regard to payment, ordering and delivery. I dont know what youre selling, but the variation could be colour or if you sell a book make it available in different covers. Then you can structure your close by asking which one would you prefer, hard cover or soft cover?

Internet Marketing Strategy #3: Exclude Outside Links

You should try as much as possible to avoid having any outside link at your sales page. Your sales page should be focused on selling making the sale to your prospects. Dont try to impress anyone by linking to all the websites in your industry. Outside links would just lead your prospects away. I recommend that your main sales page should link to at most 4 other pages and they include: testimonial.html, order.html, contact.html and FAQ.html.

Internet Marketing Strategy #4: Sell just one Product or Service

Many websites are only a catalogue of all the products under the sun. I know youve seen even experts fall into this pithole. But the truth is: when you begin to sell more than just one product on a sales page, you end up confusing your prospects, and a lot of them will actually leave without buying anything from you. So if you have more than more products to sell, what should you do? Its straight forward just bundle and sell them in a single package or create a separate web page for each one.

Internet Marketing Strategy #5: Write an Attention-Getting Headline

Whether you know it or not, the first thing anyone whos visiting your site wants to read is a headline. Take it from me: a website without a headline is just as lousy as a magazine with no captions. Just think: a magazine with no headline does not get anyones attention, no one can tell what its all about and the worst is no matter the efficacy of its articles, they dont appeal to anybody. Thats how a website with no headline is. You must have a clear and attention-grabbing headline to entice your visitors into reading your sales copy period!

Internet Marketing Strategy #6: Write an effective Sales Copy

The message at your website is very important. You must give it time. Always, I tell people, when it comes to rating your ad copy, nothing else counts but results. Ad copy writing can be very simple to learn, if you become a connoisseur of good sales letters. Go around and pick up some of the winning sales letters by copy-writing masters; some of the masters I know are: Ted Nicholas, Joe Vitale, Joseph Sugarman, Jay Conrald Levinson, David Grafinkel and so on. Then start studying them and practice to write the way they do.

Internet Marketing Strategy #7: Use Testimonial (And Case Studies)

A lot of websites have no testimonials. You need testimonials to convince your prospects that your product is actually what you said it is. You can try to overwhelm your prospects with all the rationales why they must buy your product anybody would do that big deal! But you need proofs to establish your credibility.

So, if you dont have testimonials, ask your customers for them and you can make it easier by creating a contact form they can fill and submit. Remember to entice them by offering to give anyone who sends you a testimonial a special gift.

Building a Content Rich Website - Part 4

The importance of adding dynamic content to your websites.

You should add dynamic content to your website because when done well it will ultimately provide visitors to your site with a richer and more enjoyable experience. So what exactly is dynamic content? Well firstly you need to understand what a static page is. It is simply a page that does not change whenever somebody views it, that is every time the page is viewed the content will be exactly the same, unless of course you go and take some action to manually update it yourself.

A dynamic site has some or all of it's pages put together in such a way that each time a visitor views those pages they will get at least some different content to the last time they viewed it. This can be done in several different ways and I will go through a few of them so that you get an idea of how it's done.

The first, most obvious and probably the most common way to do this is to add an RSS Feed (or more than 1) to the pages you want to have dynamic content. Just to confuse you there are 2 different ways to do this. You can use Javascript or PHP code to publish your chosen RSS Feed(s) in a human readable form. To the human visitor these 2 methods will be indistinguishable and will achieve the same result, that is the display of fresh, constantly updating content on the chosen pages. However when it comes to the all important search engine spiders and robots that index your pages there is a very important difference. Search engine spiders and robots do not read Javascript or interpret it, they basically just skip over it, so it doesn't matter what the code does (or doesn't do), everytime your pages are visited by a search engine the Javascript will not affect the evaluation of your content. However when a search engine visits a page with PHP code, the PHP code gets executed and the search engine only gets to "see" the result of the PHP code, i.e. the search engine doesn't even know there is PHP code there, it just gets content that is generated by the PHP code.

Now what this means is that pages that contain dynamic content by way of PHP code will result in the search engines assessing your pages as having consistently fresh content. Being assessed as having fresh content is extremely valuable and will result in your site achieving a higher ranking. For you see the search engines love fresh content, and are not so fond of sites that never appear to change, even if they do by way of Javascript. If you're reasonable at software programming you could write the PHP code that will expand the RSS Feeds yourself. Alternatively you can download some free software that will do it for you from http://www.rssfetchlive.com/ - MSIFetch or http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/ - Carp.

Another slightly more complex way to add dynamic content to your pages also involves using PHP code. What you can do is to setup a single file that contains different "blocks" of content. You then need to add PHP code to your pages that will randomly select one of the blocks from the file you setup and display it on your page(s). You could expand this idea further by setting up several files with content blocks and writing PHP code that will select from as many as the files you have setup as is appropriate for each of your pages. As with the RSS Feeds you now have dynamic content on your pages that human visitors will see and very importantly the search engines will recognise your content as "fresh". How to setup these files and write the PHP code is beyond the scope of this article.

The other main way to add dynamic content is to get your visitors to do it for you, again there are several different ways to do this. The easiest and probably most common way of doing this is to allow your visitors to post comments on your site ala blog style, although you will need to make a management decision about moderating the comments. Not moderating requires no work but you then run the risk of inappropriate comments being posted on your site, moderating could become very time consuming. You can setup a free article directory such as http://www.articledashboard.com/download.htm - Article Dashboard which will allow users to post articles directly to your site, this can result in a steady stream of content if you get enough patronage. You can also do things such as run a poll, making sure you keep a dynamic display that shows your visitors the current poll results (to keep them coming back to check the latest).

I hope you have found some useful information in this piece and in the next article I will point some of the many different ways of monetising your site (not just Adsense).

Smarten Up, Marketers. Its a Personality Contest Out There!

I have a friend whos a real rascal. He wangles his way into places he doesnt belong better than an A-list celeb thronged by his thick-muscled posse. He slips out of trouble like a greased David Blaine. This guys smart but hes no Mensa grad. Hes not that good-looking, and hes not well-connected. The tools of his trade? His genuineness and natural charm. Hes likeable. Watching him work is remarkable. Its not so much what he says its all about how he says it. And dont think hes some butt-smoocher. Ive seen him tell people to take a long walk off a short pier, and they look forward to the trip!

My friend is a poster boy for reminding us, as we craft strategies and executions for our advertising campaigns, that brand character can be even more persuasive than the actual selling message. Its hard to be emotionally committed to an attribute. Features dont beget followers.

A great deal of strategic development time is focused on getting the message right: delivering the single-minded relevant point to the target. We task it with being original, unique. Ownable. I was schooled that this was by far the most critical element in strategic positioning because it was where the big idea dwelled. Well, according to Jack Trouts latest missive in Forbes, there are no new ideas anymore. We are blowing time -- and our clients money -- with the over-reliance on the rationale. (www.forbes.com/2006/09/13/jack-trout-on-marketing-biz-cx_jt_0915minds.html)

At my advertising agency, NYCA (http://www.nyca.com), we grow our clients businesses with inspired ideas. We know its important to concentrate on the brainy quotient, sure, but weve learned to heavy-up on the tone, the manner, the body. Thats where brand personality comes strolling in, dressed for success, making the everlasting first impression before he ever speaks an SAT word.

We can learn from a master teacher: Apple. You wouldnt know it from their raving user base but these are machines, for cripes sake. Plastic, wires, glass and tiny pieces soldered together to help create pictures and words, remember them, and connect. But I know MAC users who would rather go graphic-less in public than fraternize with a PC. They would revolt, feeling like they are betraying their friend. The machine seems to understand them, empower them but this is lunatic devotion. A MAC has no feelings (yet!) so why does it stir them up? And, techies, please dont blog/flog me with, Its the operating system. Thats just a microportion of the emotional equation. To see it another way: Id venture that PC people could more easily emotionally speaking - move to Mac than the other way around. They arent as devoted to IBM and the like as MAC users are to Apple. IBM just doesnt have the magnetic personality of Apple.

The Apple personality was brilliantly reverse-designed. They may have built the machine first but they sold the personality first. So the initial contact is the embrace of the upbeat, creative, change-the-world brand character before you ever boot up. Its in the logo. And at every touch point, the personality is true. We feel the easiness in their open, friendly, clean-lined stores, enjoy the good-natured yet competitive TV ads, groove with (not just listen to) their iPod communications, hug their black-jeaned, bespectacled wonderboy leader. Personality perfectly designed.

Barbara Coulon, vice president of trends for market researcher Youth Intelligence, says that surveys show, "Apple has a clear brand personality. People feel like they are part of a tribe. There are a lot of people who are passionate about it. It's sort of a cult brand. Apple is a way of life." (http://www.macnewsworld.com/story/40151.html)

So study up and invent a brand message thats university smart. But invest some creative muscle in developing the brands personality so its genuinely persuasive.

Great brands have defined personalities within their categories but theyre not exclusive to their sector, so you can easily borrow inspiration. Here are two examples of one personality statement: Down-to-earth, family-oriented, genuine, and sincere. Now, who would that be - Coke or Pepsi? Easy. But pour a glass of each and stand an inch from them - you couldnt tell the difference. Brown sugar water is brown sugar water.

Take the same words for a car: Volvo or BMW? Again, no doubt. Because their brand personalities distinguish them as much as their safety or handling claims. Better.

A well-developed personality has the power to engage from afar, stir deep feelings, and make it all up-close and personal. And thats the flashpoint where interest moves into buying, and buying into loyalty.

You know, maybe my rascal friend is a genius after all.

Getting Keyword-rich Content for Your Website

A crucial part of getting your web site noticed by the search engines is having lots of fresh keyword-rich text content on your site. Fortunately, there are many efficient and affordable ways to add new content to your site. Here are just a few of them.

Hire a Ghostwriter

Hiring a ghostwriter to produce text content for your site will obviously incur costs that you won't have with free articles. However, with a paid ghostwriter, you can expect a higher level of quality in the writing, and also specify which keywords you would like to appear in an article. By publishing free articles on your site, you will be adding content that appears on dozens of other websites. With a ghostwriter, however, you can be sure that the content will be unique to your site, which something else search engines consider when ranking a site. Ghostwriters can be found by registering at www.elance.com or www.directfreelance.com and posting a simple project outline. Writers will bid on your project, and you accept the writer with the qualifications and bid that best suits you. If you go to the trouble of hiring a ghostwriter, it is probably a good idea to get them to research and write a number of articles, rather than just one.

Keep a Blog

If you maintain a blog to give your site visitors news and information about updates to your site, it is important that you publish your blog on the same server as your site. Blogger.com is a free blogging service that allows you to host your blog on your site rather easily. You simply need to go through the Advanced set up when creating your blog and enter the ftp information for your site's server. If you already maintain a blog that is NOT hosted on your own site, you are wasting a valuable resource for SEO, as search engines do not recognize that keyword-rich content as part of your site. You should check the help section of your blogging service to learn how to republish it as part of your site.

As with an article archive, it is important to link to your blog from the main page of your site, or at least from one of the upper level pages, so search engines can easily find and spider your blog.

Many webmasters don't maintain a blog, simply because they do not know what to include in them. If you start an article archive as suggested above, you can use your blog to announce new articles. Rather then making a short post such as go check out the new articles in our archive, include the article titles and the first line or two of text of each article with read more or continued linking to the full text in the article section. These is a simple trick for getting some of your keywords to appear in two place on your site.

Create a Forum on Your Site

A forum or bulletin board on your site will appeal to both search engines and human users. Search engines like forums because they are constantly being updated with fresh content. Human visitors will often return to sites with forums to ask questions, seek or give advice, or to make contact with other people with similar interests. As with keeping a blog, it is possible to maintain a forum either off or on your site's server, and it is very important that it appears on your server, with links to and from your main page. Again, this is so important as this is the only way that search engines can recognize all of that content as part of your site. Setting up a forum does require some technical skill, but it is not as difficult as you might think. PhpBB () offers free forum software with templates and set-up tutorials.

If you would like to add a forum to your site, but lack the technical skills, you can easily outsource the work through www.elance.com.

Linux Freely Available? Linux Free? Confused Enough?

Many new Linux users are confused by the terms bantered around Free, Freely Available, Commercial Distributions and Shareware.

The confusion comes primarily from the description and terms Freely Available and Free and their distinctions.

Linux is open source software which means any software developer can add on to change the products basic source code. This is diametrically opposed to a strict proprietary concept such as Microsofts approach which is to own and have control the software and its code lock stock and barrel. There are some advantages to the proprietary approach particularly if you are dealing with a major mainstream product with millions and millions of users many of who are foolish novices; Life has enough problems without throwing in a monkey wrench to complicate efforts. Remember that if only 1/10 of 1 % of users think that if the computer throws out an error message commonly You have committed an illegal actions and run to lock their doors as the police are coming then that small percentage is a lot of people.

The confusion arises in that the source code and any changes made to it must be made freely available ... Whiskey may be freely available at your local saloon but that does not make it free of cost to you as a customer. However in actuality much of the software available in the Linux world is given away at no charge or cost except with the proviso that changes and work done to source code must be made available to others without restriction.

Linux applications differ widely in cost and appearance. Many new Linux users are confused by the apparently contradictory terms used in Linux software product descriptions. These are Freely Available Software , Shareware and Commercial Linux Applications.

Freely available software is available for free use by the end user. Although software may be freely available, it is often not the same thing as Public Domain software. Public Domain Software is software that is freely given on the open market either by the permission of the software developer or by being older than copyright constraints , that you as a user can do anything you wish to in terms of use , redistribution or changes. However Freely Available Software is different in that it is often owned and copywriter by the owner, author (or authors) who then allow people to use and / or make modifications to it. The term Freely Available Software can be further divided into software that you can either Freely Copy or Freely Distribute. Some people make their software Freely Available only if you copy or download it from a particular site or from a non commercial distribution. Other people will let you copy their software from anywhere. Copying restrictions usually apply to people making a commercial distribution, not to the end user of the distribution. The distribution maker has the responsibility to be in compliance with the packages copying restrictions which are usually outlined in the programs source code or about or Help sections.

A lot of freely available software can be obtained by downloads on the internet. Some can be bought in physical form from commercial retail outlets either online or at a physical location.

Many freely available applications have been converted from UNIX to OS/2, Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP. And other operating systems... If you use an application that has been ported to many operating systems you will be able to carry your skills and data to alternate platforms if you wish to or have to change for one reason or another.

NonFree Applications consist of commercial applications and shareware applications. Commercial applications are sold outright. Shareware programs may be tried out and evaluated then either not used, uninstalled or a license key purchased. Sometimes shareware programs may be used for free in a home environment but purchased if used within a business setting.

Hopefully now the distinctions between these terms bantered around in the Linux software distribution distro and downloads sites will be clearer to you now.

Temporary Staff And Motivation - Are Short-term Contracts Damaging The Health Of Your Organisation?

Why do managers use temporary contracts and agency staff? Sometimes it is for short-term projects. But often it is simply a device to try and get round the constraints of employment legislation, in the hope of keeping flexibility in an uncertain future in essence, shifting the risk of job security from the firm to the individual. Of course, European legislation has recently made this more difficult. But there is a bigger question underlying the practice: whether using temporary contracts improves or harms an organisations performance.

In general, the popular assumption has been that people will work harder if they have to get their contract renewed in a few months, and that that will improve output. On the other hand, it is argued that people on temporary contracts may be more dissatisfied and so perform less well. Psychologists in this area have performed useful studies over recent years, though the results have not always been what one would expect.

Mark OSullivan of Birkbeck tested the question in a small but representative study of UK public sector employers, by looking at expectations of staff performance (through scores in the recruitment process) against how they actually performed (through staff appraisal scores), and seeing whether this comparison was different for those on temporary contracts. The results depended on how employable staff felt. Professionals who expected easily to be able to find another job resented being put on temporary contracts and performed less well. But less skilled or mobile staff in areas with fewer vacancies did work harder and produced more.

A subsequent major survey-based study is now under way across a number of European countries, led by David Guest of Kings College London. Initial results suggest that staff often now prefer to be on temporary contracts but that the reason is that it is a way of avoiding the more difficult or less visible work: this gets given to the permanent staff, who also have to put up with the long hours needed to deliver it, while their temp colleagues are already down the pub. The effect on organisational performance has not yet been measured, but seems unlikely to be positive.

We can conclude that the true position is complex, and that no one should offer temporary contracts without a good deal of thought: motivational effects on both the temporary employees and on their permanent colleagues may be hard to predict. And a small early investment in expert advice may pay dividends later on.
